Asking for a pay rise should no longer be an overly complicated or daunting experience. If you’re about to go into your employer’s office and ask for a pay rise, please stop. Take a deep breath and remember no matter how bad you deserve an injection of cash; any negotiation is a two-way street and you need to remain open-minded.
Before we get into the Do’s and Don’ts it is important to touch on timing. There is no universal day to ask for a pay rise. If so you’d almost guarantee all managers would be off sick. There is however times more favourable than others to raise the question.

The ability to track clients and competitors movements freely is now more possible than ever; as Google notifies you whenever a rumble has occurred that involves them. This means becoming knowledgeable of a customers achievement is possible, as well as an important move made by a competitor.
